About College

About four decades ago, Madaripur Women's College was established in 1984 on the initiative of some academicians of Madaripur district in order to spread and spread the education of the backward and neglected women community in the area. The first Deputy Commissioner of Madaripur district, Mr. Abdur Rashid, and with the great enthusiasm of the local educationists, especially the then Chairman of Madaripur Municipality, Mr. Nurul Alam Babu Chowdhury, with the untiring efforts of this tireless effort, the college temporarily started its journey with 159 students in the Humanities branch at the southern side of the traditional Madaripur Shakuni Lake. by doing The college did not have to stop even though it started its journey temporarily. When due to the impact of globalization, there was a need to spread and spread education for the purpose of rebuilding the backward and neglected women's society of the entire country, under the influence of this, in order to build the women's college in Madaripur district in 1986, with the money donated by the then minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Abul Khair Chowdhury, his mother Sufia Begum. In the name and on the land donated by Mr. Shahadat Hussain (Parrot) Howladar, the present "Madaripur Govt. Sufia Women's College". Soon after its permanent establishment, the college occupied a special place among other educational institutions of Madaripur district. Then, in 1988, by opening the science branch and graduation (pass) class in the higher secondary class, the local residents' long-standing demands and desired dreams were realized with the aim of educating the female students of the area in science-minded and higher education. The students of this college have always left a signature of achievement in the higher secondary and graduation (pass) examinations.
The college was nationalized in 1997 following its success. Since nationalization, the progress in the quality of education of female students has been accelerated by the joint efforts of experienced senior teachers and new talented teachers. Apart from this, many structural improvements have been made in the college through government initiatives. As a result, a three-storied administrative building, a three-storied Farida Begum academic building and a beautiful 100-bed Hazera Hawladar student residence were built. Elaborate security fence, main gate, guard shed and Shaheed Minar have been constructed. Besides, necessary infrastructure development is continuing. The project of a 6-storey academic building with all modern facilities is in progress. The infrastructural development of the college is accelerating as a companion to the development drive of the Hon'ble Prime Minister.
